Many Sounds Privacy Policy

Effective October 28, 2026

Many Sounds is a sound recorder. Your recordings stay on your device until you choose to share them. We never receive your audio, your location, your name or your contact details. The app has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.

This policy applies to the Many Sounds iOS app published by Oktoid ("we", "us"). It explains what information the app handles, what leaves your device, and the choices you have.

Information stored on your device

Everything you create in Many Sounds is stored locally on your iPhone:

We have no access to any of this content. It is not uploaded to our servers, and we do not operate any account system, so you never need to sign in or give us your name or email. Because the app supports File Sharing, your recordings also appear in the app's folder in Finder when you connect your iPhone to a computer you trust.

Microphone

Many Sounds asks for microphone access the first time you record. Recording happens entirely on your device. Audio is never transmitted to us or to anyone else unless you deliberately send or share it. You can withdraw microphone access at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone, although the app cannot record without it.

Location

Location access is optional. If you allow it, Many Sounds uses your location only while the app is open, to name each new recording after the place where you made it, for example a street, neighborhood or city. To look up the place name, your device sends the coordinates to Apple's location services, as part of iOS. The app saves only the resulting place name as the recording's name. It does not store your coordinates or a history of where you have been, and nothing is sent to us.

If you don't allow location access, new recordings simply get a standard name and everything else works the same. You can change your choice at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services › Many Sounds. Apple's handling of location data is described in Apple's privacy policy.

Sharing and exporting

You can send your sounds by email, save them to Files, send them with AirDrop, or share them with any app through the iOS share sheet. When you do, the files go directly from your device to the destination you pick. Those services are governed by their own privacy policies. Many Sounds does not keep a record of what you share or where.

Purchases

Many Sounds is free to download. Unlimited sounds are unlocked with a one-time in-app purchase, processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. To confirm the purchase, the app sends the App Store receipt to Apple's receipt verification service. Apple's handling of purchase data is described in Apple's privacy policy.

No analytics, advertising or tracking

Many Sounds contains no analytics, crash reporting or advertising SDKs. It does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not track you across other apps or websites.

If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements, Apple may give us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics for the app. These contain no personal information and no audio.

Selling or sharing data

We do not sell, rent, or trade any information about you. The app does not collect personal information in the first place.

Children

Many Sounds is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app collects no personal information from anyone.
