Currently there are 4 different types of Tabs.

  • Normal Tabs - This Tab store shortcuts of items that can be executed when clicked, the original files will never be modified by TabLauncher.
  • Running Applications - This Tab will display all the applications that are currently running. You can quit this applications from this Tab. And you can drag documents into this Items to open them with the selected application.
  • Recently Modified - You can configure this Tab to display the most recently modified files, or recently added to the specified folder. You can't customize the item's position on the tab because they are managed by TabLauncher and are always sorted by date.
  • Real Folder - This Tab represents a folder on your system. You can drag files here as you would to a normal Finder's folder. To Copy a file instead of moving hold down the Options (ALT) key until the operation is completed. Unlike the "Recently Modified Tab" Items in this Tab can be rearranged, customized with labels and separators can be added. Deleting Items in this Tab will send the original files to the recycle bin.


  • Tabs that are not "Normal Tabs" are considered "Special Tabs". To add one, open the preferences window and select the "Tabs" menu.



    Select the type of Tab that you wand to add, and press the "Add ..." button.



    Some special Tabs have options that can be adjusted on the "Special" menu.
